Formed from quickly cooled felsic lava, the gemstone obsidian is known for its protective qualities, releasing imbalances, and blocking negative energies. As a color, obsidian can vary, usually appearing as black, sometimes with white snowflake crystal patterns which add calming and soothing characteristics to this magical glass stone. Performed on a Pat Haran Native American flute in the key of Bb, and recorded in the depths of The Tank, Obsidian Shadows is a meditative and reflective improvisation where the listener can close their eyes and experience feelings of surrounding and comforting shadows as the melody of the encompassing flute swirls and eddies around them.
